Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement

Parent Update

As you may have already heard, on March 28th, 2022, the Government of Ontario announced the Early Learning and Child Care Agreement. In summary, this program aims to lower child care fees:– By an average of 25% retroactive to April 1, 2022.

  • By an average of 25% retroactive to April 1, 2022
  • By an average of 50% by the end of 2022, and
  • Up to an average of $10/day by September, 2025

The responsibility for enrolling in this program lies with All About Kids as your childcare operator. We want to acknowledge to our families that we will be applying to the Early Learning and Child Care program within each of our municipality locations (Toronto, York and Durham).

Please note that the province will be working with Ontario municipalities to enrol over 5,000 licensed daycare centres and home care providers between now and September 2022. We cannot guarantee when our applications will be reviewed and if they will all be approved. Rebates to families should be issued within 60 days of approval of an application. In the meantime, please pay your monthly daycare fees as you would have in the past.

We understand that you may have a lot of questions about what exactly these changes mean for you, what your new rates will be, when you will receive refunds, etc. Please know that as Operators and Supervisors, we have many questions ourselves. We are working through the announcement and all the guidance we are receiving as best as we can.

We will communicate further details on the program and the financial benefits to you as soon as we have the information. If you have any urgent questions that cannot wait until our next communication, please reach out to Sherry McDonald at you for your patience and understanding. We will provide further updates as soon as we can.

Thank you,
Carol Norton, Owner of All About Kids
